Who We Are: Our Ethos Statement
At First Baptist Church Prince George, we gather as a community shaped by grace, truth, and hospitality in Jesus Christ.

We believe every person is created in the image of God, deeply loved, and invited into the life of God's kingdom.

We come as we are, each with a unique story of faith. At times we carry joy, at times questions or wounds, and often a mix of all three. Some of us have walked with Christ for many years, while others are beginning to discover who He is.

Here, we seek to welcome one another as whole persons; each one of us is unique, complex, and precious to God.

Because we are all recipients of God's grace, we commit to being a community where:

-
every person can belong
-
every voice can be heard
-
every story can be honoured
-
every seeker can explore faith without fear
-
every follower of Christ can grow in discipleship
We recognize that differences will exist among us, yet we choose to engage one another with humility, compassion, and respect, trusting the Holy Spirit to guide us in unity, not uniformity.

In all things, we look to Jesus as our model for love, welcome, and truth. We desire to be a church marked by open doors, open hearts, and open lives, joining God's mission of reconciliation, justice, mercy, and hope.

Rooted in God's transforming love, we commit to walk together as one family in Christ, as we learn, worship, serve and grow side by side.
What We Believe
✦ God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — is sovereign, loving, and gracious. He made the world, holds it together, speaks to us, rescues us, and will one day make everything right.

✦ The Bible is God's inspired Word, — our highest guide for faith and life.

✦ Every person matters to God — you are made in his image and carry real dignity. But all of us have turned from him in ways large and small, and that distance has consequences we can't fix on our own.

✦ Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human. His death in our place is the only basis for forgiveness and freedom from sin. His resurrection is victory over death — and in him is life.

✦ Salvation is God's gift, received through faith in the crucified and risen Jesus — not earned, not deserved.

✦ The Holy Spirit brings us to life, makes his home in us, and is at work shaping us from the inside out.

✦ The church is God's idea — shaped by the New Testament and expressed in the Baptist tradition we call home.

✦ Jesus is coming back. We live with resurrection hope and the expectation of life with him forever.
